One of Vaasa´s most known buildings, the massive yet agile U-shaped virastotalo lies at the other end of the bridge connecting Vaasa´s city center to Palosaari, forming an attractive gate to the island like district and a well-recognized landmark

The planning of Vaasa´s main administrative building was commissioned to our office after winning the design competition in 1984 At the time, a countless number of sketches, sets of plans and detailed drawings were produced, all hand drawn

Today, the building continues hosting numerous public service authorities with different tasks and needs, and underneath the subtle white facade big changes keep happening as the building is in constant transformation to meet modern office requirements.

Since 2014 we are involved in a major interior project, aiming for improved space efficiency and users comfort, for that we are using the latest 3D modelling tools available and applying BIM methods, with good cooperation with structural and technical planners we combine our work to verify the design and minimize errors.
